Ogun to Host Second Wamufat Sports Camp in 2026

The Wamufat Youth Community Development Foundation, a US-based non-profit, will host the second edition of the Wamufat Sports Camp, Run Ogun, from August 3 to 8, 2026, in collaboration with the Nigeria School Sport Federation (NSSF). This six-day camp is designed for children aged 10 to 16, providing free coaching across various sports, mentorship, and character development.

The camp will culminate in a community Race Day on August 8. Participants will engage in athletics, football, chess, netball, golf, ayo, and tennis, alongside a curriculum emphasizing values such as gratitude, respect, excellence, teamwork, resilience, and integrity.

The inaugural camp in August 2025 successfully brought together over 450 children at the Agroterra Sports Complex in Joga-Orile, Ogun State, featuring Nigerian sporting icons like Olympic medallist Mary Onyali and former Super Eagles international Mutiu Adepoju. Fatimoh Muhammed, President of WYCDF, stated that this year's camp aims to reach more children and deepen mentorship.
