Ogunjimi Elected Chairman of African Accountants-General

Dr. Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi, the Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), has been elected as the Chairman of the African Accountants-General during the Annual General Meeting held in the Kingdom of Eswatini. He achieved a decisive victory, polling 83 percent of the total votes cast, while Tanzania received 11 percent and the Republic of The Gambia garnered 6 percent.

A statement from Bawa Mokwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, indicated that this election demonstrates the confidence in Dr. Ogunjimi's leadership, professional competence, and commitment to enhancing public financial management across Africa. As Chairman, he is expected to provide strategic leadership to promote collaboration among member countries, best practices in public financial management, and strengthen institutional capacity across the continent.

The Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation congratulated Dr. Ogunjimi on this significant achievement and expressed confidence in his leadership to enhance cooperation among African nations.
