Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq Elected President of African Regions Forum

Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF), has been elected as the President of the African Regions Forum. This election occurred on a Monday in Tangier, Morocco, during the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) World Congress.

Alongside Abdulrazaq, four vice presidents were elected to represent Central Africa, North Africa, East Africa, and Southern Africa. The mandate of the forum is to strengthen leadership structures across the continent, accelerate socio-economic development, and deepen decentralization and devolution of power to subnational governments.

During the event, Governor Abdulrazaq emphasized the need to improve synergy among African nations, including subnational governments, to foster sustainable growth and development across the continent.
