Osinachi Ohale Retires from Super Falcons After 16 Years

Osinachi Ohale, a defender for Nigeria's Super Falcons, has officially retired from international football, concluding a distinguished 16-year career with the senior women's national team. At 34 years old, Ohale confirmed her decision via social media, expressing that it was a challenging choice after years of dedication to her country.

Throughout her career, she earned 86 caps and was instrumental in securing four Women’s Africa Cup of Nations titles. Ohale also represented Nigeria in four FIFA Women’s World Cup tournaments, showcasing her longevity and consistent performance at the highest level.

Known for her leadership and defensive prowess, her retirement signifies the end of an era for the Super Falcons' defense. She announced her decision on Instagram, stating, “After 16 years of wearing the Nigerian jersey, representing my country, and giving everything I had to the beautiful game, I have made the very difficult decision to retire from international football.” Ohale will now focus on her club career as the Super Falcons undergo a transition.
