Ogun Police Deploy 2,500 Personnel for Ojude Oba Festival

The Ogun State Police Command has announced the deployment of 2,500 personnel, including various tactical units, to ensure security during the 2026 Ojude Oba festival scheduled for today in Ijebu Ode. DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday.

The deployment includes personnel from the Police Mobile Force, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU), Anti-Kidnap Unit, and other specialized units. The police will utilize armored personnel carriers, patrol vehicles, motorcycles, and surveillance teams to manage the expected heavy vehicular and human traffic during the festival.

The operation aims to ensure effective crowd control, traffic management, and rapid response to any security concerns. Babaseyi emphasized the need for collaboration with traditional rulers, community leaders, and event organizers to enhance intelligence gathering.

The police have warned against criminal activities and urged residents and visitors to remain law-abiding and vigilant throughout the festival period.
