Okpebholo Swears in Edo LG Chairmen, Urges Development

On Friday, Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State conducted the swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected chairmen of the 18 local government areas at the Festival Hall, Government House, Benin. He urged the chairmen to prioritize grassroots development, avoid corruption, and fulfill the trust placed in them by the electorate.

Okpebholo described the recent local government elections as free, fair, and credible, reflecting the people's confidence in democracy and his administration. He emphasized the local governments' crucial role in ensuring development reaches communities and highlighted the renewed commitment to local government autonomy under President Bola Tinubu.

The governor called for hard work, unity, and engagement with the people to achieve the collective target of 2.5 million votes for the President. Gabriel Iduseri, Chairman of Oredo Local Government Area, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and pledged commitment to transparent leadership aligned with the governor's SHINE AGENDA and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
