Edo Governor Inaugurates Solar Grid for Gbelebu Community

On Thursday, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, through Deputy Dennis Idahosa, inaugurated a mini solar power grid for Gbelebu Community, established by Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc in collaboration with the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta and ETIN Power. Okpebholo emphasized the importance of private sector partnerships in development, highlighting the government's SHINE Agenda aimed at improving infrastructure, security, agriculture, and human development.

He noted that the solar project not only provides electricity but also invests in the community's livelihoods and quality of life. The Acting Chairman of Ovia South West Local Government Area, Nosakhare Edobor, urged residents to protect such developmental projects.

Graham Hefer, Managing Director of Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc, stated the company has been committed to community development since its establishment in 1976. High Chief Enoch Sulubor, Amanawei of Gbelebu Community, expressed gratitude for the project and the Edo Government's support.
