Olayinka Critiques Makinde's Choice of Daura as Running Mate

Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has publicly criticized Seyi Makinde, the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), for choosing Lawal Daura as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election. Olayinka pointed out that Daura, who previously served as the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), was dismissed by former Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on August 7, 2018, following an unauthorized siege of the National Assembly by security operatives.

Olayinka remarked on social media, referencing Daura's past actions under Buhari's administration, suggesting that Makinde's choice reflects a troubling alignment with controversial figures. He stated, “Sebi it is birds of the same feather that flock together nah,” implying that Makinde's decision is indicative of his political affiliations.
