Olukoyede Exposes How Public Officers Make Fraudulent Anticipatory Declaration Of Assets To Cover Up Stealing

Olukoyede, in a statement on August 12, 2025, revealed how public officers engage in fraudulent anticipatory declaration of assets to conceal theft. The disclosure was made during the launch of a Virtual Tool Code of Conduct for Public Officers, organized by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) in collaboration with the Technical Unit on Good Governance Reforms (TUGAR).

The EFCC's Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, highlighted the need for the CCB to intensify investigations and employ innovative means to combat corruption. The Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, emphasized the importance of upholding ethical standards in public service and commended the digitization efforts of the CCB.

Chairman of the CCB, Abdullahi Usman Bello, explained that the new tool will enhance accountability and ease of use for public officers.
