Gbolagade Challenges Akande-Sadipe's APC Candidacy in Court

Abiodun Gbolagade has initiated legal action against Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, contesting her candidacy in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections for the Oluyole Federal Constituency. Gbolagade asserts that he won the primary election, which he claims was conducted improperly, and is urging the Federal High Court to restore his mandate.

He addressed journalists in Ibadan, stating that he approached the court due to allegations of wrongful declaration against the incumbent lawmaker, Akande-Sadipe. Gbolagade insists that the primary should have been a direct election in accordance with the Electoral Act and APC guidelines.

He reported that he received 2,315 votes while Akande-Sadipe only garnered 33 votes, claiming the outcome does not reflect the wishes of APC members in the constituency. Gbolagade has filed the case in the Federal High Court, which is set to be heard soon, despite challenges in serving Akande-Sadipe with court documents.
