Aiyedatiwa's Alleged Support for PDP Candidate Sparks Controversy

Controversy has arisen within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State as allegations suggest that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has shifted his support from the party’s Ondo South senatorial candidate, Isaac Kekemeke, to Mathew Oyerinmade of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Kekemeke, a former South-West Vice Chairman of the APC and ally of Aiyedatiwa, was initially supported by the governor during the party's National Assembly primary.

However, speculation has grown that Aiyedatiwa may now favor Oyerinmade, a former APC member, for the Ondo South senatorial seat. Despite these rumors, Aiyedatiwa's Senior Special Assistant on Public Engagement, Steve Bayode Otaloro, stated that the governor remains a committed member and leader of the APC, denying any support for opposition candidates.

Oyerinmade had previously contested for a different seat in the APC primary but lost to Hon. Festus Adefiranye. The claims regarding Aiyedatiwa's alleged support for Oyerinmade have not been publicly confirmed.
