Ondo APC Crisis: Aiyedatiwa's Alleged ADC Alliance

Tensions are rising within the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as allegations surface that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is engaging in alliance discussions with the African Democratic Congress (ADC). This comes after some of Aiyedatiwa's preferred aspirants failed to secure National Assembly tickets.

The APC's National Working Committee (NWC) is reportedly monitoring the situation closely, especially after photographs emerged of Aiyedatiwa with ADC's Ondo Central Senatorial candidate, Senator Ayo Akinyelure, following a church service at the Government House Chapel in Akure. Aiyedatiwa's attendance at Akinyelure's 70th birthday celebration has raised concerns among party leaders about a potential political alliance.

Insiders claim Aiyedatiwa has expressed grievances over the party's primaries and has allegedly encouraged some aspirants to challenge the results in court or switch parties. In response, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, dismissed these claims as false and misleading, emphasizing the inclusive nature of the Government House Chapel.
