Pastor's Son Rescued After Three Weeks of Kidnapping

The son of a local pastor, identified as Pastor Oluwatobi, regained his freedom after being held captive for three weeks following a kidnapping incident on June 5, 2026. Armed men stormed the Ugbosi Quarter in Idogun, destroying two buildings during their invasion.

In the chaos, Pastor Oluwatobi was unable to evacuate his children safely, leaving his young son behind, who was subsequently abducted. The Ondo State government mobilized a joint security operation involving personnel from the Nigerian Army, Police, Amotekun Corps, and local vigilante groups.

These security teams conducted extensive search operations across the surrounding forests to secure the child's release. Their efforts culminated in the boy's rescue on a Sunday, when he was found unharmed and reunited with his family.

Ondo State Commissioner for Information, Idowu Ajanaku, commended the individuals involved in the successful rescue operation.
