Ondo APC Crisis Temporary, Tinubu Set for 2027 Victory

On Thursday, Chief Olusola Oke (SAN), a legal practitioner and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, stated that the ongoing internal conflict within the party would be resolved before the 2027 general election. The crisis arose after some aspirants announced winners of the senatorial and House of Representatives primaries and subsequently sued the party for allegedly removing their names from the candidates' list submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission by the National Working Committee of the APC.

Aggrieved aspirant Mr. Razak Obe expressed concerns that this crisis could jeopardize President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's chances in the upcoming election, despite Tinubu having secured 67% of the votes in Ondo during the last election.

Oke, who previously contested for the governorship ticket in 2020 and 2024, countered Obe's claims, asserting that Tinubu would win decisively in Ondo and cautioning against statements that could harm the party's reputation. Some aspirants have engaged the law firm of Remi Olatubora (SAN) to challenge the APC's decision in court.
