Ondo Deputy Governor Urges Inmates to Seek Skills, God

On Friday, Dr Olayide Adelami, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Prison Fellowship Nigeria, visited the Olokuta Medium Security Correctional Centre in Akure. He urged inmates to utilize their time in custody for spiritual growth and skill acquisition, framing incarceration as an opportunity for reflection and transformation.

Adelami encouraged the inmates to strengthen their relationship with God and take advantage of vocational and educational programs available at the facility, which would aid their reintegration into society. He advised them not to let past mistakes dictate their futures.

During his visit, he also interacted with young inmates at the Juvenile Correctional Centre, encouraging them to reflect on their actions and prepare for responsible futures. Mr Olayinka Dada, Officer-in-Charge of the Olokuta Centre, praised Adelami and Prison Fellowship Nigeria for their support, noting improvements in inmate welfare and infrastructure under President Bola Tinubu's administration, including ongoing construction of a modern cell block.
