Betta Edu Commends Oluremi Tinubu for Food Bank Launch

Betta Edu, the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, commended First Lady Oluremi Tinubu for the launch of the National Community Food Bank for the South-South region in Calabar, Cross River State. Edu described the initiative as a vital intervention for vulnerable populations, including pregnant and lactating women and malnourished children.

She emphasized that the facility would not only provide nutritional assistance but also support local farmers and producers, thereby boosting the economy of Cross River State and the South-South region. Edu expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Oluremi Tinubu for their commitment to addressing food insecurity.

Additionally, she praised the Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, and his wife, Eyoanwan, for their support. Edu also highlighted the commissioning of an Information and Communication Technology center at the University of Cross River State, aimed at equipping young people, especially women, with essential digital skills for a technology-driven economy.

Edu was appointed as the director of women mobilization in the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council in August.
