Ondo State Achieves 82.6% Debt Reduction Under Aiyedatiwa

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa reported an 82.6% reduction in the state's domestic debt profile during his 18-month tenure, a record achievement among Nigerian states. This announcement was made in Akure by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, during the first quarterly media briefing of the Aiyedatiwa administration.

The debt reduction was accomplished alongside the payment of inherited salary arrears, pensions, and gratuities. The administration's initiatives are based on the 'OUR EASE' agenda, aimed at enhancing living conditions and governance.

Significant improvements in healthcare include the recruitment of over 2,000 health professionals and the introduction of enhanced CONMESS and CONHESS allowances. The government allocated N1 billion for hospital interventions and upgraded health facilities.

In education, over 2,000 teachers were recruited, and various support programs were expanded. Additionally, over 200 kilometers of roads were completed, with ongoing dualisation projects in all three senatorial districts and the construction of the Akure Flyover Bridge to alleviate traffic congestion.
