Ondo State Suspends 27 Students for Misconduct

The Ondo State Ministry of Education has announced the indefinite suspension of 27 students due to misconduct, which includes gross violations of the state's code of conduct for public secondary schools. This decision, communicated by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr.

Akindele, follows reports of unruly behavior and a failure to adhere to previous warnings. The Ministry has been actively engaging with school administrators and stakeholders to curb indiscipline, yet incidents of bullying, fighting, and truancy continue to rise, exacerbated by indecent videos circulating on social media.

The Ministry has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy towards behaviors that undermine the integrity of the educational system. The suspended students are barred from entering school premises or participating in school-related activities until further notice.

The Ministry has called on parents and guardians to play an active role in monitoring their children's conduct and to collaborate with school authorities to ensure a disciplined learning environment.
