G100 Proposes Four-Year Transition for Opposition Unity

The G100 has proposed a Government of National Competence anchored on a single four-year transition term to unite Nigeria’s opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections. This proposal was articulated by Mallam Salihu Moh.

Lukman during the Summit of Nigeria’s Opposition Political Parties held on Monday at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja. The summit included representatives from various political parties, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), and Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Lukman emphasized that the proposed government would focus on competence, integrity, national inclusion, and fair representation, guided by a four-year National Reset Programme. He called for an “enforceable Transition Charter” to ensure commitment from participating parties.

The cooperation framework includes a Central Leadership Committee and five working groups focused on democratic renewal, opposition unity, and selecting a common presidential candidate. Lukman clarified that the summit does not aim to dissolve any political party or demand candidates to withdraw.
