Agbese Urges Tinubu to Honor Security Chiefs with GCON

Philip Agbese, a representative from the Labour Party for the Ado-Ogbadibo Federal Constituency in Benue State, has written to President Bola Tinubu advocating for the conferment of the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) national honour on Nigeria's security chiefs. In his letter, Agbese commended the swift actions of troops in Monguno, Borno State, who successfully repelled an attempted abduction by ISWAP terrorists on July 19.

He highlighted the recent rescue of schoolchildren and a teacher in Oyo State, emphasizing the importance of recognizing the efforts of security personnel in restoring hope to families and ensuring the safety of children. Agbese noted that the recognition would boost morale and encourage continued excellence in protecting Nigerians.

He called for sustained investment in security and intelligence personnel to prevent future incidents, urging collaboration among parents, students, and the government to ensure absolute safety in schools.
