Orji Kalu Links Security Investment to Nigeria's Economic Growth

Orji Uzor Kalu, former Abia State governor and current senator representing Abia North, has stressed the importance of bolstering security infrastructure spending as essential for Nigeria's economic progress. During an official visit to Sokoto State, Governor Ahmad Aliyu presented Kalu with a souvenir marking the end of the trip.

Kalu emphasized that persistent insecurity across Nigeria is hampering economic development and preventing improvements in citizens' living conditions. He asserted that concrete action on security through stringent measures is indispensable; without such action, the nation cannot achieve the expansion required to alleviate poverty.

The senator also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's initiatives to advance Nigeria's economy, viewing security investment as a vital accompaniment to those endeavours. While in Sokoto, Governor Aliyu's administration unveiled ten newly commissioned road projects within the Arkilla New Layout.

Kalu received ceremonial honours prior to concluding his visit. Abubakar Bawa, Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Sokoto State Government House, released a statement documenting the senator's remarks and visit details.

Kalu reaffirmed his dedication to championing national cohesion among Nigerians, vowing throughout his lifetime to advocate for unity. He designated insecurity as a critical barrier to Nigeria's economic advancement and renewed calls for strong policy interventions addressing security threats.
