Adeleke Defeats APC in Oyetola's Polling Unit Again

In the 2026 Osun State governorship election, Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party achieved a significant victory by defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) at a polling unit associated with former governor Adegboyega Oyetola. Adeleke garnered 120 votes, while APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji received 81 votes, resulting in a 39-vote margin in favor of Adeleke.

This outcome mirrors Adeleke's previous success in the 2022 governorship election, where he also defeated Oyetola at the Government House polling unit in Osogbo, securing 117 votes to Oyetola's 106 votes, a margin of 11 votes. The latest results indicate that the APC could not win at a polling unit linked to its former governor and 2022 candidate, highlighting the ongoing political rivalry between the two parties.

Oyetola, who served as governor from 2018 to 2022 and is currently the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, remains a significant figure in Osun politics.
