APC and Accord Party Clash Over Adeleke's Governance

In the lead-up to the 2026 Osun State governorship elections, the APC (All Progressives Congress) and the Accord Party are engaged in a war of words over the performance of Governor Ademola Adeleke. Accord Party spokesperson Pelumi Olajengbesi defended Adeleke's record, arguing that his administration has improved infrastructure and education, citing a rise in the state's academic ranking and fiscal transparency.

Olajengbesi claimed that despite spending fewer years in office, Adeleke has outperformed previous APC administrations. Conversely, APC campaign spokesperson Remi Omowaiy accused Adeleke of neglecting public infrastructure and failing to improve critical sectors, despite increased state revenue.

Omowaiy also alleged that the governor's administration has awarded contracts to unqualified companies and that healthcare facilities have deteriorated under his leadership. Both parties are also addressing allegations of political violence, with Omowaiy denying APC's involvement and Olajengbesi dismissing the accusations against Adeleke's administration.
