APC Rejects Adeleke's Political Persecution Claims

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has dismissed allegations made by Governor Ademola Adeleke regarding political persecution against him and members of the Accord party ahead of the August 15 governorship election. Governor Adeleke claimed that violence and intimidation were directed at his supporters, stating that seven Accord members had been killed in the past three months, over 20 had sustained gunshot injuries, and more than 60 were in police custody.

He appealed to President Bola Tinubu for intervention, alleging police collaboration with political opponents. In response, the Osun APC, through its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, labeled Adeleke's claims as "misplaced" and "frivolous," asserting that he was attempting to shift blame for his political challenges.

The APC accused Adeleke's administration of fostering political violence and failing to provide evidence for his allegations. They emphasized that the electorate would judge Adeleke's performance in the upcoming election.
