Adeleke and Oyetola Clash Over Osun Election Credibility

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola engaged in a war of words over the credibility of the August 15 governorship election. Oyetola, a former governor and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated that Adeleke should prepare for defeat in the upcoming election, asserting that Adeleke's endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election would not prevent the APC from reclaiming the governorship seat.

In response, Adeleke interpreted Oyetola's remarks as a threat to the electoral process, accusing the APC of planning to manipulate the election. He urged democracy advocates to take note of Oyetola's comments, emphasizing that the people of Osun would resist any attempts to interfere with their voting rights.

Adeleke defended his endorsement of Tinubu, claiming it showcased his political strength, while asserting that the APC's actions were damaging its reputation in Osun. He expressed confidence in winning the election through the people's support.
