Gunmen Attack APC Candidate's Wife's Convoy in Osun

On Sunday evening, gunmen attacked the convoy of Sekinat Oyebamiji, the wife of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Asiwaju Oyebamiji, in the Ede South Local Government Area of Osun State. The incident took place shortly after Mrs. Oyebamiji concluded a political engagement at Alajue Ward 2, where she interacted with residents and party supporters ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

During the attack, which occurred around 7 p.m., Mrs. Oyebamiji was accompanied by Princess Bukola Adereti, the wife of the APC deputy governorship candidate, Alhaji Kayode Adereti. Although both women escaped without injury, one individual in the convoy, identified as the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Sekona Branch, sustained severe head injuries and was subsequently taken for medical treatment.
