Osun Government Accuses Police of Unlawful Raids

On Wednesday, the Osun State Government accused the Nigerian Police Force of invading the residence of Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaiye, without a search warrant. The allegations were made in a statement by the state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi.

He claimed that police operatives, led by the Deputy Commissioner for Operations, arrested individuals present at the SSG's home during the raid. Alimi stated that this incident followed similar raids on the residences of six other commissioners and top government officials.

He reported that the police also ransacked the home of the Commissioner for Energy in Ikire, damaging property. Alimi condemned these actions as systematic invasions and assaults on the government, asserting that they threaten democracy and indicate police partisanship in favor of the state APC.

He expressed concern over the detention of Accord party members and called for an end to these alleged violations of constitutional rights.
