Adeleke Commissions Major Projects at University of Ilesa

On Tuesday, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke commissioned six major academic infrastructure projects at the University of Ilesa (UNILESA). He described the event as a milestone for the state's education sector, highlighting UNILESA's rapid ascent within Nigeria's university system due to effective leadership and strategic investments.

Adeleke congratulated the university's governing council, vice chancellor, management, staff, and students, expressing satisfaction with the institution's continuous expansion despite its relatively young age. He reiterated his administration's commitment to fulfilling campaign promises, including the establishment of the university, which transitioned from the former Osun State College of Education, Ilesa.

The governor announced the settlement of outstanding staff salaries and the implementation of a new salary structure for academic staff. The commissioned projects include remodeled facilities for the Faculty of Law, a new student hostel, and upgraded infrastructure.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Taiwo Olufemi Asaolu noted that this visit marked the first time a governor personally commissioned projects on campus, reflecting the institution's growth since it commenced operations in April 2023.
