Adeleke Denies Political Deal with Tinubu for 2027

Ademola Adeleke, the re-elected Governor of Osun State, clarified that he has not entered into any political agreement with President Bola Tinubu concerning support for the President's 2027 re-election bid. During an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Adeleke stated his support stems from his belief that Tinubu, as a Yoruba man from the South-West, should be encouraged to continue development projects in the region.

He rejected suggestions of a political arrangement, particularly in light of comments from Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo. Adeleke expressed his desire for Tinubu to advance federal infrastructure projects that benefit the South-West.

He reaffirmed his commitment to support Tinubu in the upcoming presidential election and indicated his willingness to participate in the campaign as needed. Adeleke's endorsement follows his victory in the August 15 governorship election, where he received 511,067 votes, defeating APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who garnered 444,815 votes.
