Osun APC Rejects Recall of Senator Fadahunsi Amid Protests

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the six local government areas of the Osun East Senatorial District’s Ijesa axis has rejected calls for the recall of Senator Francis Fadahunsi, labeling those behind the move as anti-APC elements. Akinyele Akintola, the Director of the Contact and Mobilisation Committee of the APC in Ijesa South Federal Constituency, made this statement in Osogbo on Friday.

This response follows a peaceful protest in Ilesa by a group of youths led by Olatunji Olorunfemi, who accused Fadahunsi of making comments that could incite violence and announced plans to initiate a recall process. Akintola defended Fadahunsi, citing his achievements over more than seven years in the Senate, including assisting 400 women and youths in securing employment and contributions to education, road construction, and social interventions.

He emphasized Fadahunsi's law-abiding nature and his recognition as a High Ranking Customs Officer, urging stakeholders against actions that could create tension in the district.
