Accord Demands Arrest of Senator Fadahunsi Over Threats

Accord has demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of Osun East senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi following a viral campaign video in which he allegedly instructed members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to kill its members. Accord stated that Fadahunsi's actions confirm that its members and supporters are targets of political violence, harassment, and intimidation by APC-associated thugs, with alleged collusion from the police and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The party's statement, signed by National Publicity Secretary Joseph Omorogbe, condemned Fadahunsi's threats as unjust and unacceptable, especially with the gubernatorial election approaching. Accord urged the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) to apprehend Fadahunsi and control his supporters.

Additionally, the party called on the international community, including the European Union, United States, and United Kingdom embassies, to monitor the political situation in Osun State and advocate for a free and fair election. Accord also demanded the release of over 60 of its members allegedly detained in Abuja and Nasarawa State.
