Osun APC Backs Senator Fadahunsi Amid Recall Efforts

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the six local government areas of the Ijesa axis within the Osun East Senatorial District has officially rejected the ongoing recall campaign against Senator Francis Fadahunsi. The party stated that the recall does not reflect the views of genuine APC members and constituents, labeling the initiators as individuals undermining the party's interests.

Akinyele Akintola, the APC’s Director of the Contact and Mobilisation Committee for Ijesa South Federal Constituency, emphasized the need for political stakeholders to avoid actions that could escalate tensions in the district. This position comes after protests by youths and residents in Ilesa, who accused Fadahunsi of making inflammatory remarks before the August 15 Osun governorship election.

Fadahunsi was questioned by the Osun State Police Command regarding a viral video where he allegedly incited violence against Accord Party supporters, which he denied, claiming his comments were misinterpreted. Despite the controversy, protests for his recall continue, led by Olatunji Olorunfemi of the Coalition of Youth and Students with Concerned Citizens of Osun East Senatorial District.
