Osun APC Senator Apologizes for Controversial Remarks

Francis Fadahunsi, the senator representing Osun East Senatorial District and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), issued an apology for his controversial remark urging supporters to "kill Accord members" during a political meeting ahead of the governorship election. He stated that his comments were made during a moment of emotional distress due to the deaths of some APC members and were intended metaphorically to encourage lawful electoral competition.

Following public outrage, Fadahunsi was questioned by the Osun State Police Command and later granted bail after interrogation. He expressed gratitude to Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, the Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, for his calm response to the situation.

Fadahunsi also noted that the peace of Osun State is more important than political disputes and called for healing among residents post-election. The Osun State Attorney-General initiated legal action to compel police investigations into the threats associated with Fadahunsi's remarks.
