Atiku Abubakar Calls for Credible Osun Election Process

Atiku Abubakar, speaking at the ADC National Youth Leadership Summit in Abuja, warned against turning the Osun election into a militarized event, stating it should be a civil engagement rather than a military operation. He criticized the heavy security presence, questioning why such resources were not used against terrorists and bandits.

Atiku urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure timely delivery of materials and transparent voting processes. He also raised issues regarding discrepancies in the Chicago State University certificate submitted by President Bola Tinubu to INEC, noting differences in dates and signatures.

Atiku invoked Section 137(1)(j) of the Constitution regarding disqualification for presenting a forged certificate, demanding authentication of the document. He encouraged youth to engage politically, pledging that at least 30 percent of legislative candidates under his program would be under 40, urging them to transform their frustrations into political action.
