Atiku Abubakar Warns INEC Ahead of Osun Election

On Wednesday, Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding the upcoming governorship election in Osun State. Speaking at the National Youth Leadership Summit in Abuja, he described the election as a critical test for the credibility of future elections, particularly the 2027 general elections.

Atiku urged INEC to avoid any "mysterious glitches," ensuring that election materials arrive on time, voters can vote freely, and results are transmitted transparently. He also called on President Bola Tinubu to refrain from using government institutions for partisan advantage and urged security agencies to protect voters instead of intimidating them, emphasizing their role in securing the electoral process.
