INEC Reports 1.9m PVCs Collected for Osun Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that as of now, 1,906,390 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been collected in preparation for the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026. This figure accounts for 81.50 percent of the 2,339,233 registered voters in the state.

Mohammed Haruna, chairman of INEC’s Information and Voter Education Committee, stated that 432,843 PVCs, which represent 18.50 percent of registered voters, remain unclaimed and are currently held at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as per INEC’s procedures. Additionally, some voters who lost, damaged, or defaced their PVCs have applied for replacements, with 6,101 individuals printing downloadable copies of their PVCs.

INEC has published a detailed breakdown of collected PVCs on its official website to enhance transparency and keep stakeholders informed. Haruna assured that the commission is fully prepared to conduct a free, fair, credible, transparent, and inclusive election on the scheduled date.
