INEC Reports 432,843 Uncollected PVCs Ahead of Osun Poll
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that 432,843 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) remain uncollected in Osun State, which constitutes 18.50% of the 2,339,233 registered voters. Mohammed Haruna, Chairman of INEC’s Information and Voter Education Committee, disclosed this information in a statement issued on Friday.
The uncollected PVCs have been deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as per the commission's procedures. Additionally, Haruna mentioned that some voters whose PVCs were damaged, defaced, or lost have applied for replacement cards, with 6,101 individuals printing downloadable copies of their PVCs.
INEC has published a polling-unit-by-polling-unit breakdown of collected PVCs on its official website to enhance transparency and provide stakeholders with relevant information ahead of the election. The commission reaffirmed its readiness to conduct a free, fair, credible, transparent, and inclusive governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.
