INEC Prepares for August 2026 Osun Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared its full readiness for the Osun Governorship Election scheduled for August 15, 2026. During the Osun State Governorship Election Stakeholders’ Forum in Osogbo, INEC Chairman, Prof.

To improve PVC collection rates, the deadline has been extended to July 31, 2026, with 322,822 newly registered voters having collected their PVCs as of July 26, 2026. INEC will deploy 4,427 Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) devices, including 664 backups, and will conduct a mock accreditation on August 1, 2026.
