Davido Mocks Police Over Stranded Officers in Osun

Afrobeats superstar Davido publicly mocked the Nigeria Police Force over reports that many officers deployed to Osun State for the August 15 governorship election remained stranded weeks after the election concluded. Through his verified X handle, Davido questioned whether the officers' continued presence was due to a failure to secure the desired electoral outcome, tweeting, “Could it be because dem no deliver?” The officers, drawn from various Mobile Police Force squadrons, reportedly have not been withdrawn to their original formations and have remained in various camps across the state.

Davido had declared his support for the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, during the election. In the election results, Adeleke secured 511,067 votes across 19 local government areas, while his opponent, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), won in 11 local government areas with 444,815 votes.
