Fadahunsi Accuses Adeleke of Violence in Osun East

Femi Fadahunsi, the Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, accused Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke of importing political violence into the district ahead of the upcoming governorship election on August 15. During a press conference in Osogbo, Fadahunsi alleged that over 40 people had been killed in the district in the past year, with 30 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) reportedly killed in the last month alone.

He claimed the violence was intended to intimidate opposition supporters and prevent them from voting. Fadahunsi detailed several violent incidents, including four deaths and 16 injuries during a local government administration crisis in Ijesa land, and violence in Esa-Oke in April 2025.

He alleged that members of the Amotekun Corps killed four constituents in Akinlalu. Fadahunsi stated that the situation was particularly alarming ahead of the election, asserting that Ede, Adeleke's hometown, remained peaceful while Osun East faced terror.
