Disruption of Election Material Distribution in Osun State

On Saturday, in Modakeke, Osun State, an incident occurred where men dressed as police officers allegedly disrupted the distribution of election materials intended for the upcoming Osun State governorship election. This disruption involved the use of teargas, as reported by an X user named Oyindampla.

The election officials were preparing materials for distribution when the incident took place. Voters in Osun State are set to elect the next occupant of the Bola Ige Government House for a four-year term.

Incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke is seeking re-election under the Accord Party. Notably, two candidates, Adesina Adeyemi-Doro from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Simon Adewale from the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), have announced their withdrawal from the race.

Adeyemi-Doro has endorsed Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while Adewale has declared support for Adeleke. Despite their withdrawals, both APGA and APM will remain on the ballot for the election.
