PSC Praises Police for Professionalism in Osun Election

The Police Service Commission (PSC) commended the Nigeria Police Force for its professionalism, orderliness, and cordiality during the Osun State Governorship Election held on August 15, 2026. This commendation was part of the PSC's interim report monitoring police conduct across the three senatorial districts of Osun Central, Osun East, and Osun West.

The report, communicated by Torty Njoku Kalu, the Head of Protocol and Public Relations of the PSC, noted that police deployment was adequate, with an average of four officers per polling unit. Osun Central had three officers per unit, while Osun East and Osun West had five each.

The PSC also praised the collaboration among various security agencies, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Nigerian Army, which contributed to the peaceful conduct of the election. DIG (Dr) Taiwo Lakanu (rtd.), leading the PSC Monitoring Team, expressed satisfaction with the police's conduct, commending IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu for effective deployment strategies and recognizing the roles of DIG Isyaku Mohammed and CP Samuel Erale Etaifo.
