INEC Chairman Amupitan Focused on 2027 Elections

On Wednesday, Prof. Joash Amupitan, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), reaffirmed that the commission's focus remains on preparing for the 2027 general elections, despite the imminent Osun State governorship poll.

Amupitan provided this assurance during a congratulatory visit from a delegation of senior advocates from Plateau State, led by Piu Akubo, who came to commend him following his appointment as INEC chairman. He appealed to Nigerians, particularly members of the legal profession, to continue supporting the commission in fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities during the upcoming elections.

Amupitan expressed gratitude for the visit and acknowledged the significant loss to the legal profession in the country due to the passing of several senior advocates from Plateau State.
