Obi Demands Apology from Fadahunsi Over Election Comments

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), condemned Senator Francis Fadahunsi for making inflammatory and threat-laden comments ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday. In a statement on his Facebook page, Obi expressed concern that such remarks could escalate political tensions, intimidate voters, and potentially lead to electoral violence.

He emphasized that as a serving member of the National Assembly, Fadahunsi has a constitutional and moral duty to promote peace and democratic values. Obi described the use of intimidation and incendiary rhetoric as alarming and unacceptable, urging Fadahunsi to retract his statements and apologize to the people of Osun State.

He called for all political leaders and stakeholders to exercise restraint and commit to peaceful conduct during the election. Additionally, Obi urged security agencies to monitor inflammatory statements and ensure equal protection for voters and election officials.

He encouraged residents to remain calm and peacefully exercise their right to vote.
