Osun Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Mother

Taye Kasali, a resident of Bose Osi in Osun State, was arrested by the Osun State Police Command on September 7, 2026, in connection with the murder of his mother, Kudirat Kasali. The incident reportedly occurred on August 31, 2026, when Taye allegedly killed Kudirat by slitting her throat with a machete after she threatened to lease the family farm, which he considered their primary source of livelihood.

Following a report of their disappearance on September 1, 2026, police initiated an investigation that led to Taye's confession during interrogation. He subsequently guided police to the shallow grave where Kudirat's remains were buried, along with the machete used in the crime.

The state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Zungura, has mandated a thorough investigation and stated that Taye will be charged in court after the investigation is completed. Zungura also encouraged the public to report missing persons and suspicious activities.
