PDP Candidate Adebayo Adedamola Denies Petition Against Adeleke

Adebayo Adedamola, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the August 15 Osun State election, publicly denied filing or authorizing any petition against Governor Ademola Adeleke’s victory. His denial came during an interview with TVC on Monday, amidst controversy surrounding petitions at the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Osogbo.

One petition, marked EPT/OS/GOV/02/2026, was reportedly filed in Adedamola’s name against Adeleke, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and the Accord Party. Adedamola stated that he had received no communication from his lawyer or the PDP leadership about contesting the election outcome and emphasized that no meetings had been held to decide on a post-election challenge.

He expressed his support for Adeleke, recalling that the PDP had publicly backed Adeleke’s candidacy two days before the election, and he even voted for Adeleke of the Accord Party, questioning why he would now file a petition against him.
