APC's Farouk Aliyu on Underestimating Adeleke in Election
Farouk Aliyu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed that the party's members and supporters underestimated Governor Ademola Adeleke during the Osun State governorship election. He indicated that some APC members believed the Federal Government would ensure their victory, leading to complacency.
This assumption contributed to the APC's defeat, as Aliyu noted that party members thought they could win without adequate effort. He also condemned remarks made by Senator Francis Fadahunsi, who allegedly threatened the opposition, stating that such comments were inappropriate.
The APC lost the governorship election to the Accord Party, with Governor Ademola Adeleke emerging victorious.
