APC's Farouq Aliyu Explains Party's Loss in Osun Election

Farouq Aliyu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated that the party's loss in the Osun State governorship election was due to internal disagreements among its members. He noted that some APC members were unhappy with the party's candidate and did not support his campaign, which contributed to the defeat.

During an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show, Aliyu expressed that the APC had made every effort to win the election but acknowledged that internal divisions negatively impacted the party's performance. He emphasized the need for the APC to review its candidate-selection process to ensure future candidates have broader support among party members.

The APC lost the election to the Accord Party, with Governor Ademola Adeleke winning by a significant margin.
