Davido Urges INEC to Use Front Camera on BVAS

On Saturday, during the ongoing Osun State governorship election, Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, known as Davido, advised officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to use the front camera on the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in cases where the primary camera malfunctions. He made this appeal via a post on his X account while voting was underway across the state.

Davido stated, “If your BVAS camera is not working, please tell the officials to use front camera. It is very active and fast!” This recommendation followed reports from various polling units indicating that technical issues had disrupted the operation of BVAS devices.

The BVAS is employed by INEC for voter accreditation through fingerprint and facial verification, among other electoral functions. Davido has been vocal regarding the Osun governorship election, previously urging local and international observers to closely monitor the election's conduct.
