Otu Offers Employment to Presidential Awardees in Cross River

Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River received seven recipients of the Presidential Honours Award for their distinguished service during the 2025 National Youth Service Corps year at his residence in Calabar. He commended the awardees—Christopher Utsu, Favour Asuquo, Ndem Ndem, Freedom Udama, Miracle Bisong, Agom Johnson, and Clement Ekunke—for exemplifying the "true Cross River spirit" through excellence, diligence, and commitment.

Otu assured the young achievers of his administration's unwavering support, stating that they would receive automatic employment. He expressed pride in their achievements, which culminated in the prestigious award conferred by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Aso Villa.

Additionally, Otu mentioned that those who choose not to join the state civil service would receive support for training, skill acquisition, and take-off grants to establish their businesses. He emphasized the importance of young people in securing the future of the state.
